Counselling Services and Supports
Sometimes you know exactly what you want to talk about. Other times, you just know something hasn't felt right lately.
You may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck in your head, grieving, struggling in a relationship, going through a change, or simply tired of carrying something on your own.
Counselling gives you somewhere to talk openly about what's happening, understand yourself and your patterns a little better, and explore what might help. You don't need to have the right words or know exactly where to begin.
What We Might Work On
People come to counselling for many different reasons, including:
-
Anxiety, worry and overthinking
-
Stress and overwhelm
-
Grief and loss
-
Relationship and family difficulties
-
Life transitions and change
-
Self-worth and people-pleasing
-
Emotional fatigue and burnout
-
Feeling stuck or disconnected from yourself
You don't need to fit neatly into one of these areas to reach out.
What Sessions Are Like
My approach is person-centred and collaborative. We'll start with what's happening for you and work from there.
Sometimes a session may simply be a conversation you haven't been able to have anywhere else. At other times, we may look more closely at patterns, thoughts, relationships or the ways you respond when things become difficult.
Depending on what feels useful and comfortable for you, sessions may also include:
-
Grounding or breathing practices
-
Mindfulness
-
Gentle body awareness
-
Reflection or mapping exercises
-
Practical strategies to try between sessions
These aren't things you have to do. They're options we can draw from when they support the work we're doing together.
Ways to Meet
In Person - Sessions are available at my office at 1 Hwy 20 W in Fonthill, Ontario.
Virtual - Meet from your own space through secure virtual sessions, available across Ontario.
Walk & Talk - For those who prefer talking while moving, counselling sessions can take place outdoors on local trails. I am also an approved PaRx Connector.
Single Sessions -You don't have to commit to ongoing counselling. A single session can be useful when there's something specific you'd like to talk through or you simply need somewhere to sort through what's happening.
